What is the job about?

The role of the Inside Sales Engineer for Key Accounts is to provide all technical and pricing support directly to our commercial Fire Key Accounts and their engineer business partners. This position will work closely with Key Account Manager and the Customer Success Manager for Key accounts, providing full sales cycle support from preliminary budget product quotations through final UL/FM pump submittal document packages. This position reports directly to the Fire Team Lead and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.


Your main responsibilities :

  • Review product specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to: equipment selection, sizing, costing, and customization of the Peerless product to meet the individual Key Account needs.
  • Provide preliminary pump selections, data, and drawings to Key Accounts or Key Account Manager for fast support of customer specification needs.
  • Communicate with our direct suppliers for pricing, delivery, and technical information.
  • Provide documentation to customers pertaining to pricing, delivery schedule, preliminary design information, specifications, detailed listing of customer specifications reviewed at proposal phase.
  • Support continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and eliminate errors in the order winning process.
  • Proactively create customer tailored solutions in preparation for efficient order execution, such as initiation of custom part number creation.
  • Support continuous improvement, in order to achieve deliverables and maximize Customer loyalty.
  • Assist with routing engineered skid opportunities to PES
  • Support full life of the product including aftermarket parts opportunities.
  • Work with the Key Account Manager, Customer Success Manager and Quality department to resolve technical Issues with world class support.
  • Provide lead time guidance to customer aligned with best available factory and supplier capacity.
  • Work within Key Account customer portal to create and submit all necessary pre-bid or final submittal packages.
  • Be the go-to technical resource for both Key Account engineering partners and end users.
  • Log all sales activities, inquires, interactions and quotations in the Peerless Customer Relationship Management system.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business with equivalent experience in technical sales and manufacturing
  • Previous experience in Engineering, Project Management or Sales in a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Comprehensive interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detail
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Access®, Power Point®, Projects®, Outlook etc.), AutoCAD (or other drafting tools), SAP and CRM systems
  • Advanced understanding of pumps, construction, hydraulics, and application of rotating equipment
  • Experience with Peerless Express, Adobe Acrobat, NFPA 20.
  • Has a high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitments
