Job Description - Manager of Sales & Operations Planning

SWFcontract is hiring for a Manager of Sales and Operations Planning based in our Long Island City Corporate Headquarters 

 

SWFcontract, along with MechoSystems comprises the SWF commercial business unit. Our products have been installed in well over one million commercial buildings throughout North America, providing solutions for daylighting and glare control while addressing energy savings. SWFcontract offers a comprehensive line of window covering products at value price point, while being a leader in the commercial window treatment space.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with Manufacturing Facilities to Optimize Service
  • Daily communications with manufacturing facilities on priority orders and any special instructions for the facility. - This requires deep knowledge of overall order / backlog situation, orders on hold, customer priorities, supply chain situations, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Take feedback from manufacturing and work with sales and/or customer service to resolve conflict and minimize disruption. Demand and Forecast Responsibilities
  • Analyze large orders and quotes to determine if product and/or schedule alterations may be needed.
  • Provide monthly business unit forecasts for all contract product lines to allow manufacturing to plan appropriately. Recommend forecast adjustments as needed based on unforeseen demand.
  • Work with Purchasing in cases of high demand or difficulty in meeting production requirements. This can include substitute materials, partial shipments, alternative suppliers, and/or air freight.
  • Run reports to understand weekly sales tracking
  • Run monthly sales summary and provide analysis and insight into sales by product, by territory as well as market trends.
  • Interface with customer service, field sales and customers on a daily basis to ensure customer satisfaction and to understand their requirements on large or complex projects.
  • Facilitate discussion on options for alternative products, materials, shipping options, and scheduling to align customer needs with SWF manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Interface with commercial field sales force on a daily basis to provide direction and advice to satisfy customer needs and close sales. This includes competitive bid analysis and quote price adjustment within approved level of authority.

  • Integrates quality at the source thinking and activities in daily, individual, team and project work.
  • Utilizes quality/process tools and methodology in daily individual work.
  • Defines and documents individual processes within sphere of control
  • Improves processes within sphere of control
  • Checks satisfaction of internal customers through use of quality tools and Customer/Supplier metrics Training 

 

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and customer communication in the construction industry is also strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of product offering
  • Understanding of supply chain, operations
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving, brain storming, conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Proficient with computer systems. Includes pulling data and reports from Springs Window Fashions (SWF) systems and downloading them into Excel for analysis and reporting
  • Requires the ability to visualize and develop conceptual ideas.
