As a Shop Manager/Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a variety of small engine equipment, ensuring the readiness of our fleet vehicles, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. If you are passionate about vehicle maintenance and enjoy working with small engine equipment, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: 1. Small Engine Mechanic:
- Diagnose and repair various small engine equipment, including chainsaws, string trimmers, mowers, and related tools.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance and repair history for timely servicing.
- Procure new equipment as needed and efficiently manage equipment inventory.
- Categorize, label, track, and stock shop inventory for quick access.
- Provide equipment to crews in the mornings and assist with deliveries when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant shop environment. 2. Fleet Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and readiness of our fleet vehicles, sourcing the best repair deals and scheduling maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, repairs, and scheduled services.
- Address emergency and on-the-road vehicle issues efficiently.
- Facilitate fleet rotation, managing the sale and replacement of vehicles when necessary.
- Monitor and optimize fuel consumption and expenses for cost-effectiveness. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in vehicle maintenance, repair, and equipment management.
- Ability to source cost-effective repair solutions, equipment, and inventory purchases.
- Commitment to adhering to OSHA safety standards and maintaining a safe shop environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
