Job Description - Area Sales Manager

Your Job At Georgia Pacific Corrugated Packaging , we are dedicated to fostering Preferred Partnerships and cultivating mutually beneficial relationships. We are currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to support our integrated box business. This role is pivotal in driving profitable growth and continuous transformation to enhance value for our customer base. As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive solutions and growth in the market. This highly visible role reports to the Area General Manager and is crucial to our success at GP Corrugated Packaging. Location: The ideal candidate will reside near our box facilities in Milan, Michigan or Owosso, Michigan Our Team Join an exciting and dynamic team in the Great Lakes market with investments in capital, dedication to developing preferred partnerships and delivering best-in-class service. The Area Sales Manager plays a key role in leading our business development-focused commercial sales team and collaborating with various capabilities to create value for customers and GP. What You Will Do
  • Manage and develop our commercial sales team in Michigan and Ohio, including recruitment, retention, and ongoing development.
  • Foster mutually beneficial partnerships between sales and operations, collaborating with other commercial business units.
  • Drive continuous improvement of profit margins, seeking innovation and strategic opportunities.
  • Develop market sales strategies and pricing aligned with market-focused vision.
  • Build and nurture existing and prospective customer relationships.
  • Create value through customer success by implementing our sales training process.
  • Ensure a robust sales pipeline based on regional needs.
  • Ensure compliance and safety with governmental regulations and company standards.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 applications and CRM Microsoft Dynamics.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Direct packaging industry experience, including manufacturing processes and design.
  • Business and financial acumen, with expertise in analysis, pricing, forecasting, market trends, and budgeting.
  • Understanding of end-to-end sales process.
  • Flexible to travel up to 50% of the time.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Proven track record in crafting strategic business plans aimed at enhancing value propositions for both customers and the organization.
  • Previous experience managing a commercial sales team.
  • Interest in learning or experience with understanding Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Technical training or continuing education demonstrating lifelong learning.
