Job Description - Associate Wealth Advisor

Position: Associate Wealth Advisor
Location: Norfolk, NE (hybrid; some in-office, some remote)

Utilizing best-in-class resources and technology, you will roll up your sleeves and work in collaboration with a senior advisor to tackle complex financial, estate, and tax planning situations and deliver an experience to clients that is second to none. Interested in more details? As a n Associate Wealth Advisor , you can expect to:
    • Provide support to three lead advisors
    • Prepare for and attend client meetings, take notes, complete follow up, and correspond with clients
    • Participate and listen carefully in client and planning meetings and translate the discussions into a strategy for data collection and analysis to help drive financial planning efforts; calculate projections
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding clients
    • Interview clients about their attitudes, financial constraints, and goals; identify and clarify client needs; review statements provided by clients
    • Continuously stay in relationship with clients and understand their unique circumstances, connections, talents, interests, etc.
    • Create personal financial statements
      • Conduct monthly/quarterly/ad hoc client reporting
    • Meet with clients to review paperwork; ensure all required forms are completed accurately
    • Generate reports, such as position statements, for meetings with clients
    • Organize data
    • Complete accurate financial plans in MoneyGuidePro or Right Capital; input updated values into appropriate planning software
    • Perform complex analysis of planning strategies, risks, and opportunities in the areas of retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, cash flow planning, asset allocation, asset protection, etc.
    • Own the implementation of client planning strategies
    • Develop client deliverables and reports in a timely, accurate, and informative manner
  • Respond to client service needs throughout the year
  • Research new products and services that will enhance client relationships or fulfill clients’ short- and long-term financial needs; conduct research on FI 360, Morningstar® and other back-office tools
    • Maintain model portfolios on a regular basis
    • Place trades through our broker/dealer’s trading platform
    • Stay current on trends in the financial planning area; read trade journals, books, and other publications
    • Recommend new or updated tools and resources to keep the firm on the cutting edge (e.g. regarding customer relationship management, trading models, etc.)
    • Draft letters as needed
    • Assist with workflow needs in the office:
      • Follow up on outstanding transactions with our broker/dealer (e.g., transfers)
      • Maintain up-to-date and organized client files, including copies of all signed applications and forms, according to compliance requirements
      • Maintain mutual fund, variable annuity, and stock recommended lists
      • Maintain up-to-date information on model portfolio performance (e.g., through Morningstar®
Qualifications for this role include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required
  • 3+ years of experience as a service advisor in the financial services industry required
  • Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) are required
  • Proficiency with computer software, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word), CRM, Wealthscapesm, Morningstar® Advisor Workstation , Argus, Value Line, FI 360, Broadridge Forefield Advisor
  • CFP®, CRPC designations a bonus; willingness to enroll in the CFP® certification program required
  • Strong understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
    • Knowledge of mutual fund, stock, bond, insurance, and annuity products
    • Knowledge of third-party asset management systems, including how they work, their benefits and their drawbacks
    • Exposure to estate planning issues
  • Excellent people skills, including:

    • Use multiple technology platforms (e.g., CRM system and Wealthscape sm , etc.)
    • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
