Job Location
Onsite/Hybrid, San Diego - This position allows a hybrid work structure, under which employees can work remotely for up to 2 days per week, between Tuesday and Thursday, after completing a probationary period and based on demands of specific tasks. Working from the office is encouraged for some tasks that require a high degree of collaboration. Minimal domestic travel required, possibly 10% of time.

Job Overview:
The DevSecOps Engineer will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development, operations, and security within our aerospace projects. This role is designed for innovative problem-solvers who are passionate about automating security into the development process and ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable systems in a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security testing and compliance checks
• Collaborate with software engineering team to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle
• Develop and maintain secure containerization practices
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Monitor and manage cloud and on-premises environments to ensure they adhere to security and compliance standards
• Lead efforts in vulnerability assessment, threat modeling, and security risk analysis
• Mentor team members on best practices in DevSecOps methodologies
• Provide support at customer sites and participate in test and evaluation activities

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles with a strong background in software development.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools (e.g., OWASP, STIGs).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH) or DevOps (e.g., Kubernetes Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineering)
• Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security tools.
• Knowledge of network security and architecture
• Advanced STEM degree or active DoD clearance

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time
• Must be able to operate a computer

Pay Scale:
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140K-$155K and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
