Director of Software Applications

Amerit Fleet Solutions is the leading Fleet Maintenance company in the U.S.. We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Applications to join our growing team!

• We are a dynamic and fast growing company, and we are looking for an experienced, capable leader who can drive the software development teams to a new level
• This role is centered around developing a trusted relationship with the business, mentoring staff, and collaborating with product owners to ensure the successful delivery of functionality aligned with priorities
• You have oversight of the full software development lifecycle required for a group of developers, and looking to implement an agile environment
• You will partner and provide leadership for agile teams of experienced Microsoft (.NET, C#, Blazer, SQL Server, Azure cloud) full-stack software engineers, removing impediments and enabling the teams to deliver business value
• You will be responsible for managing the support and development of our core fleet maintenance system, which is an off-the-shelf product.
• You will be responsible for managing the support and development of our Peoplesoft FSCM, HCM ERP systems.
• You will be responsible for managing the support and development of all other software applications, web portals.
• Liaise with the Infrastructure Technology Services teams and the Business to facilitate the smooth execution of our corporate priorities and goals
• Manage a team of full-stack developers with diverse skillsets, offering mentorship, leadership, and guidance to boost their productivity and impact in the organization
• Manage offshore developers through value-added partners for the development of custom software.
• Partner with CIO on developing and implementing application software portfolio strategies.
• Clearly articulate intentions, to empower individual contributors, allowing them the flexibility to adapt in real-time, when encountering obstacles
• Guide and develop proficiency in skills to create high-performing individuals and teams
• Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with our user needs and goals

• Exceptional communication skills are imperative for success, along with a keen focus on delivering impactful business value through technology
• Strong understanding of IT trends, emerging technologies, and their business implications
• Strong understanding of software development utilizing cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code, with a preference for proficiency in MS Azure
• Strong understanding of full stack application architectures and service-oriented architectures
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Agile/iterative development methodologies (XP, SCRUM, etc.)
• Project Management Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Equivalent. Master degree preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in software development, ERP systems, CRM and other off-the-shelf software products
• 10+ years of managing teams
• Some hands-on development experience or ERP functional/technical experience preferred.

Requirements

• 5 years experience in managing helpdesks or desktop technicians
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Management Information systems OR related field
• ITIL Certification is a plus
• CISSP or CISM Certification is a plus
