Freelance Technical Writer

Tasso is looking for a Freelance Technical Writer to join our team. This person will be responsible for creating and designing technical documents such as manuals, reports, brochures, or articles.

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer. He/she is able to convey technical concepts in simple, clear instructions with detailed images such as charts or diagrams. He/she will be intimately familiar with the product features and functionalities. 

Responsibilities: 

• Work with our branding consultants to finalize new IFU (Instructions for Use) template with our new branding scheme.
• Incorporate the new template across multiple IFUs and help manage release and implementation of new revisions. (with quality support) 
• Update All IFUs to add new precautions for use based on market analysis - estimate minor updates to ~50 documents
  1. Approximately half of the documents above are translations for international markets. Work with translation contractor to get updated translations, and complete final formatting updates for release.
• Manage all the concurrent changes to minimize rework and scrap. Work with production, supply chain, and kitting vendor to roll out changes (with internal help)
• Develop/Finalize new IFUs for new product launches (mostly formatting, minor content development) - estimate 5 documents
• Obsolescence of old IFUs - with support manage workflows and customer notification planning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing or five years of technical writing experience
• At least three years of recent writing experience
• Experience writing for an FDA regulated product is very helpful
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Proven experience working independently, setting tasks and timelines and meeting those goals

Compensation:
(1099 or LLC) $65-$85/hr. or $.12-$.22 per word, negotiated based on portfolio and experience.
