Job Description - (Global Mining) Senior Security Superintendent

This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Sorel-Tracy, QC.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Superintendent who will support operations managers and their teams in implementing and adhering to best practices aimed at minimizing health and safety risks for our event teams from chemical and metallurgical processes used in our facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your authority and technical knowledge in supporting maintenance, process development, production, engineering teams, and the SSES function of the plant to enhance safety performance and knowledge.

Reporting to the Health, Safety, Environment, Security, and Operational Safety Business Partner within a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.

  • Through your leadership and communication skills, contribute to the development and promotion of our health and safety culture.
  • Coordinate the conduct of incident investigations and identified corrective actions to make our operations safer.
  • Network with internal and external experts to promote exchange, standardization, and rapid improvement of current practices.
  • Manage expenses in line with agreed budget controls.

Requirements:

  • Permanent relocation to Sorel-Tracy, QC.
  • Commitment to your safety and that of your team.
  • Strong industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in team management and leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined with solid experience in Health and Safety.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence strategies and translate them into practical and effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Experience in implementing, supporting, and promoting global initiatives.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and basic knowledge of English. This Company is a global company and the functions of this position may require collaboration with colleagues, teams, or partners based outside Quebec.
  • Available for sporadic travel.
  • Diverse experience in multiple industries or different areas of operations (operations, maintenance, engineering, process).
