Job Description - GM Master Technician

General Motors Master Certified Technicians A General Motors dealership is seeking qualified technicians to join their team immediately! General Motors Certified and/or ASE Master Certified technicians experienced with diesel, transmissions, and engine work is what this auto group is looking for. The company offers great pay plans , in a high volume , fast paced environment , and with an experienced team that has strong employee retention ! The auto group is seeking self-motivated, hard-working individuals that are looking to become part of a growing service center. Core Responsibilities: To be successful at this position a technician must be able to perform these tasks :

  • Routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks, according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnostics and repair of mechanical and electrical issues such as:
  • Electrical Issues
  • Engine work
  • Transmissions
  • Brakes
  • Suspension
  • HVAC systems
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to identify any safety or performance concerns and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Use diagnostics tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems accurately.
  • Interpret diagnostics codes and data to determine the root cause of issues and develop appropriate repair plans.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in automotive technology and diagnostic techniques.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts, such as belts, hoses, brakes, and filters, using appropriate tools and techniques.
Source and order replacement parts as needed, ensuring compatibility and quality. Document parts used and work performed accurately in service records. Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and explain repair options and costs clearly. Provide estimates for repair work and obtain customer approval before proceeding with repairs. Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain a clean and organized work environment (including tools, equipment, and service bays). Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on safety practices and technical skills. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive repair preferred.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience as an automotive service technician.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Scan tools
  • Multimeters
  • Diagnostic Software
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing/repairing vehicle issues per manufacturer guidelines.
