Job Description - Human Resources Generalist

Tallahassee Primary Care Associates is looking for a full-time HR Generalist to join our busy Human Resources Department. Qualified candidate must pass a criminal background check to include references and a drug test. Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some occasional overtime, Monday - Friday.

I. Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, management of related field
  • 1-3 years of generalist experience
  • Years of experience may substitute for education requirement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to articulate and communicate effectively in person, on the phone and in e-mail
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others and under pressure
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or ability to meet the requirements to take the exam
  • Participation in the local Society for Human Resource Management Chapter or other human resource management activities

II. Essential Functions of Position

A. Record Keeping

  1. Ensure maintenance of personnel records, medical files and other employment related information
  2. Ensure I-9 forms are accurately completed
  3. Maintains all acknowledgements of policies and procedures
  4. Assist with Family Medical Leave tracking
  5. Ensure personnel records are in compliance with labor laws and regulations
  6. Conducts daily filing/scanning and record keeping of various documents
  7. Conduct various audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of personnel information, benefit information, payroll information, etc.

B. Staffing

  1. Review applications received through the Applicant Tracking System
  2. Conduct phone screens on qualified candidates for job openings
  3. Update ATS with phone screen notes, interview notes and status of applications
  4. Conduct on-boarding process for all new employees
  5. Advertise, recruit, review applications and interview candidates for job openings
  6. Follow all applicable HR laws
  7. Analyze departmental and office overtime to assist Human Resources Manager with staffing management
  8. Review and revise job descriptions annually
  9. Assist the Human Resources Manager with reports
  10. Observe interviews and meetings conducted by the Human Resources Manager

C. Employee Relations

  1. Assist the Human Resources Manager and the managers with employee relations issues
  2. Assist managers with performance evaluations
  3. Assist managers with the disciplinary process, documentation, conflict resolution and employee conduct
  4. Conduct exit interviews with departing employees
  5. Assist in investigations with the Human Resources Manager

D. Training

  1. Facilitate new hire orientation
  2. Develop and update TPCA and regulatory training initiatives
  3. Assist in training the HR Assistant
