Job Description - Innovation Specialist

  • To support the Head of Customer Journey in continuously searching for and identifying improvement and innovation opportunities, including with core technology, to improve service impact and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Work in partnership with Technology Services to maintain awareness and understanding of wider technology opportunities and their potential for application to core programmes.

Salary Range Non London based applicants - £43,000 - £48,000 London based applicants - £47,000 - £52,000
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to the customer journey across the portfolio, including through technology solutions, by continuously reviewing colleague and customer feedback on our service delivery offer.
  • Work with Technology Services to review technology opportunities from across wider Maximus, and new products & emerging capabilities in the marketplace. Also, assess opportunities for exploiting technology to improve service delivery.
  • Develop 'Proof of Concept proposals' of testing and evaluation. As and where successful, work with Technology Services to translate the PoC into a supported live service, and with the Change Management lead to roll out in the business.
  • Lead, facilitate and support user testing as and where required.
  • Gather and utilise data relating to customer insight to drive opportunities for innovation.
  • Drive and test innovations, through proof of concept into operational realisation.
  • Support in the introduction and roll out of technology based improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Preferably educated to degree level, but with proven intellectual capability.
  • Demonstrable track record of working with a range of technologies and applications to deliver effective services to customers resulting in positive impact.

  • Passionate about the customer experience and application/impact of the product portfolio
  • Highly detail conscious with experience of critical path analysis and detailed process mapping
  • Strong appreciation for technical environments and architecture
  • Strong stakeholder management/communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, and influence and persuade at all levels including highly technical specialists through to service users
  • Innovative and creative thinking skills, with the ability to identify and leverage opportunities for improvement by co-creating new and customer-centric solutions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and measure the impact and effectiveness of changes, whilst ensuring alignment with the organisation's performance indicators and quality standards.
  • Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, guide, and coach colleagues and customers alike, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
