Onsite/Remote: Remote Position

This position may be located in Moline, IL, Olathe, KS, or Johnston, IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency. 

This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As an Instructional Designer/Developer for John Deere Information Systems located in Moline, IL, Olathe, KS, or Johnston, IA, you will p erform needs assessments and effectively design, develop, and deliver training objectives, outcomes and measurements for Dealer-facing applications and initiatives. In addition, you will:

  • Create and implement both short and long-term training plans by working with various stakeholders in supporting Dealer-facing products, processes and solutions, including new technology-based training solutions
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with various product teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders
  • Modify and maintain content, delivery, or environments based on continuous product updates/releases, evaluation feedback, etc.

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of experience delivering training to Dealers and/or internal stakeholders
  • 2 or more years of experience identifying stakeholder needs, writing objectives and performing task analysis
  • 2 or more years of experience developing training materials to include web-based training modules, videos and online web instructional training
  • 5 or more years’ experience working with cross-functional teams and adjusting working style to achieve desired outcomes
  • Able to travel up to 25% domestically, based on business needs

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience delivering instructor-led training both onsite and via distance learning classroom
  • Experience applying instructional design techniques and processes
  • Knowledge of Dealer business practices, ideally including the practices followed at John Deere dealerships
  • Knowledge and understanding of dealer facing systems, ideally including the systems used at John Deere
  • Experience assessing training needs, writing objectives and storyboarding
  • Knowledge and experience creating training material using Adobe Creative Cloud (Dreamweaver, Premier, After-Effects, Audition), Articulate Suite, AuthorIT, and other audio, video, and distance learning course software

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or related discipline
