Grant Leading Technology is seeking a self-motivated candidate for Junior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will assist in requirements gathering, space planning, furniture and finishes of the interiors of commercial buildings. The successful candidate will work with a design team to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Responsibilities:
Work with interior design team to develop concept plans and test-fits for commercial single office or small suites
Support lead designers 35% Design Intent Drawings (DIDs)
Able to assist in documenting and gathering requirements during client calls
Provide space planning deliverables, such as concept plans, test-fits, finish and furniture selections
Participate in space planning design projects, site surveys, walkthroughs and punch
Research concepts and materials to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development
Work within timely schedules to coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completion
Maintain client, vendor, and consultant relationships
Prepare preparation of sketches and documentation for client presentation
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Fine Arts required
One to three (1-3) years of experience in commercial interior design furnishings, finishes, fixtures and equipment in various stages, from conception to completion
Experience required with InDesign or similar software
Proficiency in implementing site surveys, creating space plans, and developing design concepts in AutoCAD
Demonstrate understanding of basic principles of space planning
Experience with Meeting Minutes/Note taking processes
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Authorized to work in the United States with an ability to pass public trust clearance
Preferred Skills:
Working with Herman Miller and/or MillerKnoll is a plus
Working with OFS is a plus
Knowledge of basic CAP 2020 or similar software
