Job Description - Manufacturing Engineer

MAU is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer at our client in Blythewood, SC. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate technical support for the manufacturing process. This is a direct-hire opportunity.Benefits Package

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Requirements

3+ years of experience in Engineering position
Bearings experience

Essential Functions

Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods
Use a “hands on” approach to develop and implement solutions to manufacturing problems and improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe work environment
Analyze and troubleshoot production equipment based on technical drawings and mechanical evaluation
Provide training to Operators, Setup Persons, Manufacturing Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians to improve technical abilities
Interface with all levels in the organization using verbal, written, and graphical communication tools to ensure efficient production methods
Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers using AD software, or manual charted drawings
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate product according to specifications and quality standards
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc.
Plan, implement, and track Capital and Non-Capital cost reduction projects and report to management on a regular basis
Support 5-S, Kaizen Team, and Koyo Production Systems, TS16949 and ISO14000 efforts throughout the plant
