Marine Systems Technician

It's a great time to join Safe Harbor Marinas! Systems Technicians troubleshoot, repair and install systems on boats ranging from 30-60'. These systems include: DC Electrical Charging & Distribution, AC Electrical, Engines, Generators, Water Makers, Navigation Electronics, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, Communications and more. Safe Harbor Great Island Systems Technicians will be trained through a combination of mentoring, ABYC courses and OEM Product Training to develop their knowledge of: maintenance procedures; installation application requirements and troubleshooting using both computer interfaces and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, refrigeration gauge sets, and product specific tooling. Systems Technicians execute annual decommissioning and recommissioning procedures on the vessels stored at Safe Harbor Great Island. These procedures are iPad based and guide the technician through the process while capturing critical data for the customer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute boat commissioning and decommissioning procedures Utilize diagnostic equipment and Computer Interfaces to troubleshoot boat systems and components Repair, replace, and install new vessel systems and components Evaluate repair and installation jobs and prepare estimated for hours and materials Must possess own tools Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines Other duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately Technical and Physical Requirements Strong aptitude for understanding and repairing how mechanical / electrical devices.
