Job Summary

Operate an asphalt plant efficiently and safely.

Main Responsibilities

...

• Responsible for the operation of the plant to produce asphalt material that meet quality standards
• Promote safe work practices and an excellent safety environment
• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment
• Complete daily inspection and maintenance checklist
• Participate in daily safety huddles
• Perform routine maintenance and any necessary equipment repairs as needed
• Responsible for timely reporting of incidents and accidents to supervisors
• Responsible to communicate any potential safety hazards to supervisor
• Work as a team with lab technicians to ensure mix design quality

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent experience or GED

Skills

• Knowledge and ability to perform general repairs on plant and equipment
• Adaptable to change
• Responsible, reliable, and diligent
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and peers
• Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions
• Welding and fabricating skills preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work various shifts and up to 7 days per week
• Able to kneel, bend, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders
• Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Employee will need to stand, walk, or sit throughout the work shift
• Required to use arms, hands, fingers, and legs for extended periods of time
• Able to lift and handle objects
