Job Description

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide a brief description as to the primary purpose of this job (no more than three to five sentences).

 

The IT Project Manager’s role is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.  In addition, the project manager will gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.They will be responsible for ensuring quality enhancements to problem resolutions and database integrity. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
    2. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
    3. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    4. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
    5. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
    6. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
    7. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
    8. Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during the project cycle.
    9. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
    10. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
    11. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
    12. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
    13. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
    14. Track project milestones and deliverables.
    15. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
    16. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
    17. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
    18. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
    19. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
    20. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
    21. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
    22. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
    23. Coordinate, perform and document in-depth tests, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems.
    24. With project teams, determine the impact to the customer for systems and process changes.
    25. Prepare technical and project documentation.
    26. Assist in the development and maintenance of standard procedures and best practices for system use.
    27. Produce project status and ad hoc reports for analysis of system usage, regulatory compliance, business management etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
List the minimum requirements to be considered for this position. Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Certifications Required, Equipment and/or Systems Experience

 

Education / Experience / Background:

 

●      Bachelor of Arts or Sciences

●      2 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution required.

●      PMI or other methodology training

●      Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

●      Experience with infrastructure projects and services

 

 

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

●      Excellent written and oral communication skills.

●      Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.

●      Strong familiarity with project management methodologies and software.

●      Strong customer service orientation.

●      Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

●      Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

●      Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

●      Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

●      Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

●      Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise.

●      Ability to lead and/or conduct research into systems issues and products as required.

●      Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

●      Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

●      Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.

●      Familiarity with Google applications, including Sheets and Slides

●      Experience with ServiceNow, Smartsheet and Confluence applications             

 

 

 

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

PMP and ITIL preferred

Work in Paramus office, 9-5pm, 3 days a week, M-F

Requirements: PM must have experience with infrastructure - networks, servers, data center knowledge.
