We're seeking Project Manager candidates who are experienced in demolition, concrete, or general trades for construction projects in our Livonia region. To be considered for this position, candidates should have a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, and have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving and wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals. Candidates willing to relocate and/or travel are preferred.

Position Summary This Project Manager position will provide overall leadership of civil and concrete projects including but not limited to responsibility for overall safety, profitability and quality of projects. In addition to giving support Civil and Concrete Strategic Planning initiatives, effectively implement and ensure compliance with strategic plan.

1. Reports as required to Director of Civil Work and Concrete Operations or Senior Project Manager
2. Ensure that safety goals are achieved for responsible projects and identify safe work practices and areas for improvement
3. Provide professional conduct on behalf of Christman Constructors
4. Forecast project cost to completion, and project gross profit for each monthly close
5. Coordinate directly with Chief of Civil/Concrete Estimating for estimate and bid support including take-off, estimates, proposals and pricing
6. Communicate project goals with field leadership and coordinate planning effort
7. Project planning including conceiving of civil and concrete means/methods, schedules, change order time and costs, as well as coordinate subcontractors
8. Determine subcontractor/vendor buyout, commitments and scope execution
9. Develop project budgets based on current estimates and proposals
10. Vendor and subcontractor invoice approval
11. Develop Schedule of Values (SOV), Owner invoices and ensure timely Owner payments
12. Estimate and quote extra work and document changes, ensure extras are loaded into Viewpoint/logs and track/act on Owner contract changes
13. Ensure that project controls such as safety forms, work plans, submittals, RFI's, logs and documents are organized, submitted, closed and complete
14. Work with project team to develop project and look-ahead schedules. Provide periodic review of schedules to ensure milestone dates are met and schedule delays are documented
15. Draft and submit project correspondence in order to document risk-related issues such as delays, claims, extra work and safety hazards

Work Environment This job generally operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, iPads, photocopiers, video conferencing and presentation screens.

Expected Hours of Work This position regularly requires flexibility in adapting to deadlines, changing schedules, priorities and unpredictable events. Occasional unscheduled overtime and weekend support is required.

Travel Travel is limited and primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-area and overnight travel.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, and other relevant course work, or years of work experience in related job field.
2. Five (5+) or more years' of relevant work experience or proven established work history for the position.
