Software Engineer

The Position

By pioneering data-driven technology and insights, and connecting early diagnosis to targeted treatments, we’re advancing science to ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build cutting edge analysis, visualization and to compute pipelines for analyzing sequencer data. The position requires python expertise and data science skills, in addition to solid computer science skills. You will be involved in developing and optimizing the data analysis algorithms, pipelines, and visualization.

The Opportunity:

• Analyze existing software and develop requirements, prototype and execute new architectures, software algorithm, design improvements

• Collaborate with scientists and other engineering groups to understand their software requirement and propose solutions and lead them to completion

• Write clean, maintainable, documented code using best engineering practices in the industry (design patterns, TDD, peer review, CI, automated testing etc.).

• Prepare documentation and participate in design reviews

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience

• Experience in developing scientific applications in Python, C, or C++

• Highly conversant with Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib and other similar data analysis and visualization libraries

• Good experience with distributing and Cloud computing in the scientific domain

• Good knowledge of deep learning and experience working with TensorFlow

• Development Essentials: JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Python package management

• Collaborative Traits: Good communication skills, team player, work under tight deadlines, good mentoring

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara is $115,800 and $185,600 of hiring range.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
