We are assisting a growing organization in Myrtle Beach, SC with their search for a staff accountant. They are looking for someone to join their team for day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where creative thinking, problem solving, analysis, efficiency, and initiative are required. The successful candidate should be a team-player, excellent communicator and be able to multitask while maintaining a high regard for the details.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end close process and assist staff and management throughout close process.
• Prepare general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations.
• Assist with documentation of business processes and accounting policies.
• Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheets and other ad hoc reports as needed.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Assist Management with system implementations and testing.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and documentation.
• Liaison with Finance Department personnel and other teammates as necessary

 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-5 years’ experience in accounting field, preferably in a Corporate Accounting setting.
• At least 1 year of demonstrated automated general ledger accounting experience.
