Staff Associate III - Hematology & Oncology A full-time Staff Associate is needed to join the Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory at CUIMC, and participate in cutting edge immunotherapy clinical trials using novel CAR-T cells and TCR T cells for treatment of cancer and viral infections. Experienced, enthusiastic and committed, the Staff Associate will need to demonstrate background in immunology and/or immunotherapy, proficiency in working in a clean room environment, using aseptic techniques, maintaining tissue cultures and performing required assays (e.g. flow cytometry, cytotoxicity and sterility) on human lymphocytes. Responsibilities Participate in all aspects of pre-clinical development of the GMP products, and routine manufacturing activities under approved INDs Working independently, assist in design of experiments and protocols, offer guidance and teaching to the junior members of the team Produce, maintain, and cryopreserve cGMP grade cell lines Develop and perform assays on cellular products for functionality and safety Perform a variety of techniques including qPCR, ELISA and flow cytometry Perform daily QC on instruments, as appropriate, and monitor that preventive maintenance is timely performed on laboratory instruments and equipment Perform genetic modification of human lymphocytes with different vectors Comply with facility's standard operating procedures and policies Adhere to and maintain understanding of regulatory requirements including cGTP, FDA, FACT standards Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned Minimum Qualifications Master's or Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training, and experience Background in immunology At least one year experience with advanced tissue culture techniques, flow cytometry and other immunological assays Team player with strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and interest in learning new skills and technologies Preferred Qualifications Current NYS Medical Technologist License is desired Candidates with doctoral degree will be considered. Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
