Job Description - ERP Functional Architect

As a Functional Architect in the ERP team, you'll collaborate with product management, business stakeholders, Engineering and Systems teams to bring an advanced level of understanding of the Microsoft D365 enterprise solution platform to help solve business problems. You may accomplish this through changes to manufacturing or business processes, system configurations, implementation of new features and functionalities, or through the design of system enhancements. - Related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in the design, configuration, implementation, and support of MS Dynamics ERP platform, D365 preferred
- Experience successfully working in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
- Experience with Power Platform a plus
- Experience with Dynamics Advanced Warehouse, Production and Quality modules a plus
- Experience supporting retail, supply chain, or manufacturing operations a plus What is the work?
- Plans complex delivery solutions for medium to large projects while leading a team of Analysts and Functional Architects in delivering medium to large projects
- Leads Product Management / business stakeholders to deliver efficient business and system processes utilizing best practices
- Listen and understand customer business objectives and design compelling and effective D365 solutions to meet needs through strong leadership, critical thinking and curiosity-driven innovation. 
- Collaborates with Product Management / business leaders to develop communication, training, and implementation plans to address people, process, and technology changes at the department or enterprise level
- Defines impacts of requests on assigned projects and platform
- Influences / manages scope change; ensures system decisions align with H-E-B strategy
- Participates in designing multi-year plans to meet complex business needs
- Uses data to drive decisions
- Applies an understanding of system capabilities and how data is moved or modified in them (e.g., queues / messaging services, webservices, APIs, databases)
- Assists Engineers and Systems Developers in debugging / troubleshooting issues involving data or accuracy of data in day-to-day work and production support scenarios
- Researches external systems (upstream, downstream, dependent) as needed to reverse engineer or understand their function through data extraction and validation
- Creates functional design and process documents across multiple business practices
- Influences business process improvements / product roadmap
- Serves as domain subject matter expert
- Engages with platform provider to understand their product roadmap; represent specific H-E-B needs in terms of solution roadmap /design and may contribute to user-conferences
- Mentors / coaches Business Process Owners, Business Analysts and Functional Architects to provide guidance on solution design, configuration and implementation
- Refines requirements (user stories) so they're readily consumable by Engineers or Systems Developers
- Provides functional guidance to System Developer teams to design solutions to business problems
- Participates in refinement of SDLC-related tools, standards, and training
- Owns end-to-end quality strategy for specific areas of the enterprise platform
- Develops test cases designed to validate functional / non-functional system requirements
- Executes / facilitates execution of test scripts based on test cases
- Works in testing tools or frameworks to create automated testing suites
- Provides advanced level insight and approach to the use of enterprise testing and requirement validation tools
- Serves as product manager / owner of ERP functions, if needed
- Serves as trusted advisor to H-E-B business customers on best practices / approaches in area of expertise Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an ERP Functional Architect at H-E-B?
- Advanced knowledge of D365, LCS, DevOps, and other Microsoft platform tools
- Comprehensive knowledge of finance and operations processes, data and systems that will ensure your credibility as a subject matter expert who quickly earns the respect of your peers
- Specialized knowledge of at least one D365 functional area (e.g., warehousing, procurement, accounting / finance, production operations) and understanding of how other business areas relate to your specialty
- Working knowledge of all external systems that integrate with D365, and the purpose of those integrations
- Knowledge of Agile / Scrum and project management tools
- Demonstrated progression of increasing responsibilities and business impact
- Advanced verbal / written communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of business teams, remotely and in-person
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Ability to validate data and understand how it flows end-to-end - knowledge of data cleansing, verification, migrations, and data management best practices
- Ability to leverage data and provide proof of concepts to tell a meaningful story to the business
- Ability to break down complex problems into components and reassemble them to improve efficiency and effectiveness
