Position: Freight Optimization Analyst
Location: Orlando, FL / Full time in office
Duration: 7-month contract with strong potential for extension
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM, Full-time in office
Pay Rate: $30/hr.
Overview: Acara Solutions is hiring a Freight Optimization Analyst in Orlando, FL. This role plays a crucial part in optimizing the supply chain by analyzing data, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing process improvements. The position offers the opportunity to work with a global network of 90+ locations supporting aviation products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize Execution: Analyze data and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance supply chain performance.
- Database Management: Create and manage databases for supply chain improvement initiatives.
- Analysis and Presentation: Develop and present insights and actions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Identify and Resolve Constraints: Address supply chain constraints with stakeholders.
- Implement Procedures: Create procedures for adjusting shipping methods and variables.
- Process Improvement: Identify and address operational process improvements.
- Efficiency Monitoring: Monitor freight metrics for cost and performance.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with leadership to meet freight cost budget.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement improvement efforts and support audits.
- Performance Evaluation: Assist in the development and evaluation of performance KPIs.
- Project Participation: Work on assigned freight projects.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI and strong Excel skills
- Experience with analytics, Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Python
- Demonstrated experience in all modes of transport for both domestic and international, including knowledge of Incoterms, shipping methodologies, service levels, rates, and pricing structure
- Familiarity with import and export compliance, OGAs, freight forwarders, carriers, and consolidators
- Experience with process flow and visual stream mapping
- Proficiency in ERP (SAP) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio) for executive-friendly presentations
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of supply chain/logistics experience and project management experience
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, or equivalent Lean problem-solving skills
- Ability to extract large amounts of data from multiple sources and convert it into actionable insights
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and organization skills with the ability to drive assignments to successful conclusion
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to understand complex processes and implement improvement initiatives
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks while dealing with disruptions and competing priorities
Education:
- BS with 3 years' experience or HS diploma with 5+ years' experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP, Ship ERP, Business Intelligence (Power BI or Tableau), and other analytical tools highly preferred
- Experience in freight and transportation, SAP experience
- Proficiency in ERP (SAP) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio) preferred
- Experience in planning, purchasing, buying, warehousing, and manufacturing preferred
- APICS CPIM certification preferred
