Responsibilities
Receives, sorts and identifies all parts processed into and out of the maintenance shops for repair and/or disposition.
Checks parts for obvious damage, defects, missing parts, inconsistencies in status or condition, and technical order compliance and notify appropriate maintenance shop if corrective action is required.
Assists work center supervisors in identifying problems and possible solutions concerning repair cycle assets.
Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships.

The work will require the employee to drive a government motor vehicle. An appropriate government driver license will be required for the position. Have, or obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
May be required to train and/or guide employees.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.



QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehousing and Stock Handling Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.



The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER without more than normal supervision.



Physical Effort: Active physical effort includes extensive walking. bending and stooping. Occasionally incumbent is required to lift up to 50 pounds.



Working Conditions: Workis performed inside warehouses or maintenance areas. which may be drafty or unheated. May be required to work outside, subject to inclement weather. May be subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions and scrapes in moving or

handling material. May be subject to hazards of working close to moving equipment, such as forklifts, trucks conveyor lines etc.



JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

l. Knowledge is desirable in proper procedure lo route parts through maintenance shops for technical review, storage, repair or disposal.

2. Ability to interpret and apply instructions, specifications technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints. Must be able to determine or learn to identify parts by visual observation, reference to stock lists and supply catalogs.

3. Skill in operating CAMS computer terminal to identity current status, location of reparable assets is desirable. Must be able to enter data into computer through keyboard (qualified typist not required).

4. Employee must be able to acquire a government's vehicle operator's license. At least 1 year within the past 3 years of supply experience highly desirable.

5. Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures.

6. Knowledge of supply documentation, code numbers and coding practices. printouts, material conditions, and stock numbering systems.

7. Ability to work and interact with others in a business-like manner.



PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.



VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
