Senior Data Engineer at LOTTE BIOLOGICS

To help us meet our mission LOTTE BIOLOGICS is in need of a Sr Data Engineer who will have a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure to support our Data Analytics and business initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, performing ELT/ETL processes, and extensive experience with SQL, Data Warehousing, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Power BI.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Help set up the foundation of our organizations data infrastructure and support the transition to one centralized source of truth (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or Data Lakehouse).
• Create data pipelines and use ETL/ELT processes utilizing Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or SSMS.
• Provide data as a product for stakeholders and end users, including continuous auditing and monitoring data health.
• Leverage data management tools and services to implement effective governance practices – help develop key metrics, data generation/lineage and KPIs.
• Maintain On-Premises Data Gateway and manage the Microsoft Power BI tenant administration duties.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for data analytics solutions.
• Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI – tailoring them to specific stakeholder needs.
• Be the Power BI subject matter expert for the organization – help set the foundation for a PBI Center of Excellence.
• Work with data analytic applications and tools with the goal of monitoring, analyzing, and gaining insight of process data. (PI, ProcessPad, RTMS, JMP).
• Support existing IT Analytics applications – reporting, maintenance, upgrades, and maintain validated application in an audit ready state.

Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics OR equivalent experience in a data analytics role
• 3+ years’ of experience in data analytics/data engineering role

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, etc:

• Expertise with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and performing data integrity audits/continuous monitoring.
• Demonstrated success in building a Data Warehouse – Audits, Fact Tables, Metric Marts, and knowledge of database administration best practices.
• Experience in working with Azure Data Factory – Building, managing, and running pipelines. Connecting to a variety of data sources, on-prem and cloud.
• Expert knowledge of SQL – Demonstrated ability to write stored procedures, functions, create/ properly use indexes, CTEs, advanced sub-queries, views, and advanced knowledge of query performance optimization.
• Subject matter expert in Microsoft Power BI – data source modeling, dashboard/reports development, PBI Report Builder, and tenant administration experience.
• Team player – open to sharing expertise with team members and learning.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but provide escalation when needed.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and personal accountability to drive success.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills, customer focus, and professionalism.

Physical Demands:

Office-based position which requires appropriate levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) when field work is required.

Frequent repeated motions such as keyboarding is required.

Work Environment:

This position is based indoors and the employee will primarily be working with others, but also independently. This position requires employee presence, on site 50-100%. This position is a team & project-based position that will require occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays.

Travel:

This position requires up to 10 % of travel.
