Job Description - Senior Supervisor Fleet Maintenance

DEPARTMENT:

Fleet Maintenance

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervise all Fleet Maintenance Department activities, including operational costs and personnel (both Union and non-Union employees).

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Interview and aid in hiring of new department employees
  • Instruct, train, motivate, counsel and discipline new and existing personnel (both Union and non-Union employees)
  • Uphold all Company Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures and Labor Agreements
  • Process all required Company documents
  • Oversee handling of safety notices and recalls on Company vehicles and equipment
  • Use of HxGN asset management system to help accomplish tasks including the creation of work orders to allow for proper asset maintenance tracking, authorization of parts acquisitions and insuring proper processing of invoices to be forwarded to Accounts Payable for payment
  • Administer the PM program for all material assets to include tractors, trailers, light trucks, company cars, material handling equipment and items related to buildings and facilities such as docks/doors, cranes, emergency generators, etc.
  • Interface with local, state, and federal agencies regarding safety and health regulation compliance as they relate to distribution to include both warehousing and transportation
  • Liaison between Distribution and Public Relations Department regarding special events
  • Other duties and assignments as needed

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • College Degree and/or Courses preferred
  • Three to five years relevant supervisory experience working in a maintenance facility for diesel trucks, trailers, warehouse equipment and general building maintenance
  • Knowledge and ability to direct/supervise all job assignments and personnel within the Fleet Maintenance Department
  • Ability to read, interpret, uphold, and enforce all Company Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, and Labor Agreements
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of Management, outside vendors, and employees in Fleet Maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with Windows Office Suite (Word / Excel / Outlook / Teams)
  • Confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, and problem solving required
