Job Description - WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Position at Pilgrim's

Position Summary:

Manages and directs the warehouse team members in the Ordering, Receipt, Storage and Supply of materials to the manufacturing process. Ensuring the team members are following the Warehouse SOP’s, Inventory Accuracy, GMP’s, FSQA, USDA  and any other Federal or State guidelines relating to warehousing activities.  The daily management of labor scheduling and hours in according to Plant guidelines and budgeting.  Interaction with other departments needs on a daily basis to help ensure Plant performance. Communication, Interaction, Problem Solving, People Management are all essential needs of the Department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Warehouse Supervisor position will be responsible for inventory management and reconciliation activities
  • Ensure Ordering of materials, Verify Receipts and Planning ahead to the schedule to ensure materials can be delivered to the line without interruption.
  • Schedule Labor to ensure coverage for warehousing activities. Approve and Reconcile            differences with management
  • Communication with Vendors, Plant Management and Scheduler on any changes with Supply
  • Works Closely with 1st and 2nd shift Warehouse Management Team
  • Organize inventories as needed.
  • Responsible to ensure other Shifts are set-up for success and communication of concerns  to other shifts management team.
  • Involved in Meetings as needed
  • Direct, perform and ensure weekly cycle counts, and quarterly audits with Accounting.
  • Check with the laundry room and clean rooms to see what supplies they need for the day.
  • Other duties as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse and office setting.
  • Required to Operate safely and effectively all warehouse equipment
  • Hours 6 am-3:30 pm or could vary due to the nature of the business-1st Shift
  • Hours 3 pm- Midnight or could vary due to the nature of the business-2nd t Shift
  • Exposure to various temperatures.

 

Relationships:

  • Internal: Employees on the Production line, FSQA, Warehouse, Vendors, HR and plant management 

 

Special Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
  • Bilingual skills helpful
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Computer knowledge required
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work 40+ hours
  • Good attendance and safety records
  • Must have working knowledge of Excel and Word.

 

Education:

  • High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
