The Project Controls Specialist Intern or Recent College
Graduate will assist in creating, monitoring, and forecasting
cost elements on projects, including scope changes, and
inputting/updating budget/ expenditure information into the
cost reporting system(s).
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Assist in a wide range of cost estimating and/or scheduling
related tasks required for the management of an active design
and construction project as listed below, and manage sub-tasks
as assigned.
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates.
- Assist in reviewing cost estimates developed by others.
- Attend various meetings including project design and
planning, pre-bid, pre-construction award, job, progress and
change order meetings.
- Assist in the review of designs, plans, specifications,
addenda and change orders for the purposes of estimating
construction costs.
- Assist in evaluation of change proposals and in preparation
of change orders.
- Assist in the collection and organization of project data
related to cost and schedule.
- Assist in the performance of other special assignments in
areas of cost and schedule management.
- Use construction software programs including Primavera
Expedition and CAD programs.
- Undertake special assignments as directed.
- Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise
- Pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Engineering, or
related field required
- At least a 3.0 GPA preferred
- Must be at least in Junior year of college
- Prior experience as an intern in a project team environment
preferred
- Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g.,
Construction Management, Accounting, Business, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the
team.
