JOB TITLE: Facilities Intern
FUNCTION: As a Facilities Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to various da y to day aspects of facilities operations across all of Clyde Companies and its subsidiaries . Under the guidance of our experienced facilities management team, you will assist in maintaining the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of our facilities. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to learn about facility management practices, operational procedures, and the importance of creating a conducive work environment.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Assist in conducting regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cleanliness standards.
- Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs for equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for repair and maintenance projects, including obtaining quotes, scheduling services, and overseeing work quality.
- Aid in the management of facility-related documentation, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
- Assist in coordinating office moves, renovations, and space utilization projects as needed.
- Support the facilities management team in other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
- Strategic thinking skills .
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Teams , SharePoint , and accounting software .
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong interest in facilities management, operations, or related disciplines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Prior internship or work experience in facilities management , construction or a related field is a plus.
- Pro ficiency in operation and maintaining a variety of tools including but not limited to power tools, hammer s, wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, pliers, sanders etc.
- Strong u nderstanding of safety protocols and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate work; exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Able to work in the field with facilities maintenance crew performing manual labor.
- Stamina to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in vari ous indoor and outdoor environments and in different weather conditions.
Duration and Compensation :
- This is a 3-6-month internship position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
