Job Description - Facilities Student Intern

Job Description Summary

As part of their academic experience, the Student Intern will assist with various activities to support the Support Services Division. Responsibilities may include administrative duties, data processing, and literature searches. The Student Intern will consistently demonstrate support of the SRALab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute. The Summer Intern will demonstrate SRALab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and SRALab Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, & Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties. Job Description

The Student Intern will support the Support Services projects by assisting with one or more of the following activities:

  • Data collection; Researching codes and standards.

  • Performing inventors

  • Maintaining an inventory of data collection forms to ensure ease of data retrieval.

  • Administrative duties for the Support Services Division.

  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, Facilities & Support Services, but may be additionally mentored by a Support Services Leader depending on need.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Communication and mathematics skills normally acquired through college-level coursework.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft products.

  • Ability to accurately review and enter data.

  • Analytical ability required to prepare reports, maintains data inventory, and perform literature searches.

  • Ability to strictly adhere to instruction.

  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with physicians and all staff as well as to effectively work with supervisors from various type projects.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature. Walking for short period of time.

  • Studying for long periods of time.

  • Ability to dead lift 50 pounds.
