A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN

As a Summer Intern in our Information Security department, you will work closely with the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to help design and implement a user access certification program. This program is vital for ensuring that users have the appropriate level of access to our systems and data, and that access is reviewed and certified regularly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in Program Design:
    • Collaborate with the IAM team to understand the requirements and objectives of the user access certification program.
    • Research industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to user access certification.
    • Help develop a framework for the program, including policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Implementation Support:
    • Participate in the development, configuration, and setup of the user access certification tool.
    • Assist in creating access review templates, and certification schedules.
    • Support the integration of the certification tool with existing systems and applications where technically feasible.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze user access data to identify potential risks and compliance issues.
    • Generate reports and dashboards to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the certification program.
    • Assist in preparing documentation and training materials for end-users and stakeholders.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Help conduct pilot tests of the certification program with selected user groups.
    • Collect feedback and make recommendations for improvements based on test results.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during testing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work with various departments to ensure their understanding and support of the user access certification program.
    • Assist in conducting training sessions and workshops for users and administrators.

SILAC is looking for a detail-oriented individual that can assist in the research and resolution of situations that vary in nature. SILAC provides ongoing training to enhance the knowledge and accuracy in responding to inquiries of diverse complexity.

ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in information security, access management, and compliance.
  • Basic understanding of IAM concepts and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy .

ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN WORK SCHEDULE

Our hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM MT. Shifts will start between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM MT.
