Rural Church Planting/ Pastoral Internship in Western Nebraska!

We are seeking out called and courageous men to come west and learn the culture of rural ministry and pioneer church planting!

We are located in the Panhandle of the Nebraska, 100 miles from Cheyenne WY, 200 miles from Denver CO.  Sidney, (the local town, has a population of 6200 people, and is the “big city “for several small surrounding towns. There are all basic amenities available.

This internship takes place at The Well Church of Sidney Nebraska and focuses on Rural Church Planting and/or Pastoral Ministry.  The experience includes opportunities to observe and participate in overall pastoral ministry and leadership of an established congregation, new church starts and revitalization. There will be regular preaching and teaching opportunities.

Internships last three months, six months, or twelve months, depending on the needs of the church and intern.  Interns (seminary and Bible college students or young ministers) will have opportunities to work closely with pastoral and congregational leaders, and gain hands-on training and real ministry experience.  Internships include help with housing and a small stipend.

·       Personal discipleship opportunities
·       Preaching opportunities with responsive feedback and evaluation (where available)
·       Opportunities to assist in congregational discipleship processes
·       Regular Sunday congregational responsibilities
·       Opportunities to assist in visitation and pastoral care (where available)
·       Opportunities to participate in church outreach events by supporting volunteers and church staff
·       Regular mentorship meeting with the local pastor/ planter
·       Opportunities to learn about and assist with administrative and organizational aspects     of church life
Applicant Qualifications:
·       Committed to pursuing vocational ministry in the context of a local congregation
·       In agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message
·       In good personal standing with his church and seminary or college (if applicable)
·       Have at least one reference from a faculty member at his seminary or college (if applicable) and one reference from his pastor
·       Must pass a background check
