Job Description - Intern -- Transmission Line Engineer -- Summer

Description

As an Associate Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the Transmission Line Engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to Transmission Line engineering projects.

+ Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in engineering one or more of the following areas:

+ + Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.

+ Design of Foundations, Development of Structural Loading, Analysis of Transmission Structures.

+ Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.

Please note that this internship position does not provide a subsidy for relocation expenses.

Qualifications

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience:

+ Must have an expected graduation date in Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Fall 2025 with a BS degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program

+ Solid understanding of basic statics and strength of materials.

+ Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

+ Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.

+ Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

+ Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community

+ Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred

+ Prior, related internship or co-op experience
