Environmental Planning Intern

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance projects and similar environmental review processes or planning projects.
• Work may include, but is not limited to:
• Research and data collection and analysis on a range of topics pertaining to the natural and human environment.
• Drafting or editing of environmental assessment or environmental impact statement sections.
• Drafting of project correspondence.
• Development of public engagement materials.
• Planning of public meetings and other public engagement activities.

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Fast learner, self-motivated
• Highly organized
• Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, desired
• Experience with Adobe Suite a plus

Qualifications

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental discipline, public policy, technical writing, or a related field.
