Job Description Job Description - Internship and University Partnership Coordinator (240002Q2) Internship and University Partnership Coordinator - ( 240002Q2 ) Description The Department of Children and Families is seeking a mission-driven dynamic individual to work as part of a team in partnership with DCF and social work educational programs. In the Internship and University Partnership Coordinator role, the selected candidate will build and sustain working relationships with schools of social work and DCF area office staff. Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive) :

  • Oversee coordination and operation of the DCF employment-based internship program.
  • Serve as the liaison between schools of social work and DCF area offices.
  • Recruit participants for various internship programs: employment-based, MSW fellowship, external internship
  • Produce informational materials and provide information to schools of social work about DCF internship opportunities
  • Collaborate with schools and area offices.
  • Work directly with Human Resources and DCF hiring sources to establish prompt hiring and appropriate internship placements.
  • Ensure interns are matched and supervised by a MSW, LCSW or LICSW, depending on the school’s preference.
  • Establish and maintain on-going communication with Regional and Area Office Staff regarding internships.
  • Provide guidance, support, and group opportunities for interns.
  • Confer with CWI management staff about operation and status of all internship programs.
  • Process MSW fellowship applications and confirm eligibility.
  • Maintain active database of current and past MSW Fellows
  • Conduct data analysis and produce reports as needed
  • Request transcripts from schools each semester.
  • Assist with tuition remission certificates
  • Prepare yearly contracts and maintain digital records.
  • Assist manager with the development of the ISA’s.
  • Accept and process applications to all certificate programs
  • Update and maintain rosters of certificate program participants and provide them to universities.
  • Participate in meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by CWI Director/managers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public child welfare agency and knowledge of DCF and child welfare practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of the methods used in preparation of graphs, charts, and tables.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.* II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.* III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*
  • Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
