Position Components In this role, you will work with colleagues in the Data Science Engine organization and partner with key businesses across different departments to apply advanced data science and analytics to answer key research questions. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare. You will be a member of a dynamic team comprising data scientists and subject matter experts to create and iterate on data science solutions. Projects include, but are not limited to, use of real-world data and publicly available data for modeling and prediction. Interns could be located out of our US locations in San Diego, San Francisco, Titusville, Raritan, Spring House, Boston as well as remote.
Education: - Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, or related quantitative discipline.
Experience and Skills: - Experience in ML/DS projects using real-world data.
- Strong technical expertise and thought leadership in AI/DS with excellent analytical skills in coding, data analysis, modeling.
- Proficiency with one or more programming language such as Python or R. Proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks used for managing and manipulating relational databases such as Python of SQL.
- Familiarity with predictive modeling and analysis of large datasets.
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a solution-oriented, creative mindset.
Preferred: - Experience in one or more of the following : Extracting data from the internet (publicly available data) through Web Scraping or APIs and writing optimized queries to clean, merge and analyze large datasets.
