2025 Compensation Internship

Symetra's Internship Program for Summer 2025 is entirely remote - all interns will learn and work in a virtual setting. The internship duration is 12 weeks.   

Potential Projects

We are seeking an enthusiastic intern to join our DEI Office, focusing on supporting our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). This role offers hands-on experience in ERG formation, board recruitment, leadership development, and storytelling, while contributing to projects that drive diversity, equity, and inclusion. The intern will support the entire ERG lifecycle—from establishing new groups and managing board recruitment to tracking KPIs and preparing for annual planning. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about DEI and interested in fostering a more inclusive workplace.

Requirements

• Passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Demonstrated interest or experience in DEI, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity in the workplace.


• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.


• Organizational and Project Management Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.


• Relationship-Building Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including ERG members, board candidates, and DEI team members.

Work Authorization  

Employer work visa sponsorship and support are not provided for this role. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization to work in the United States throughout their employment with our company.
