When you do join us, you will be an integral contributor to a non-governmental organization that advocates for lifesaving assistance and protection for refugees and other displaced people, abiding by the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. join to support and participate in the comprehensive fundraising efforts of the Development Team at RI: fostering and stewarding meaningful relationships with supporters, inspiring investment in RI’s critical work, and enabling strategic growth both within our team and across the organization.

Ideal candidates have experience in fundraising, communications, database management, research, and event planning. Candidates should have strong attention to detail, be able to balance multiple tasks, and should be effective and efficient problem solvers. They also work well with diverse constituents, believe in the mission of Refugees International, and know how to fulfill tasks and complete projects as needed.

ABOUT THE POSITION
You will: 

• Work at least 250 hours as guided by the Vice President for Philanthropy;


• Report to the Vice President for Philanthropy


• Work during EST hours hybrid in the Washington DC office


• Earn a stipend of $4,000.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to: 

• Assist with gift and acknowledgement processing.


• Support special event planning and creative engagement opportunities.


• Assist with researching prospective funders - foundation, corporate, and individual.


• Develop knowledge and use of Bonterra CRM database and Adobe Marketo email marketing platform.


• Support on stewardship of individual donors.


• Execute special projects in line with the intern’s abilities, interests, and goals.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.


• Possessing a close attention to detail.


• Juggling multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.


• Talent to maintain professionalism in all interactions with key constituents.


• Desire to help people and commitment to working respectfully in a multicultural and global setting.


• Having knowledge and experience with nonprofits is also a benefit.
