This intern will collaborate with KEXP’s Advancement, Facilities, Programming and Production teams, and be involved in all aspects of event planning leading up to the event, as well as day of show, to create meaningful in-person experiences for KEXP audiences, especially youth and families. • Provide day-of event support, including but not limited to set-up, coordinating deliveries, working with event volunteers, guest relations, production support, and strike
  • Contribute to the improvement and evolution of community events by participating in retrospective meetings
  • Attend biweekly Event Stakeholder Meetings

Skills Learned:

  • Best practices in event planning and production including run of show/timeline, advancing, event documentation shared with key stakeholders, and writing/developing talking points

Working Conditions: Interns are required to come into the office at least one day a week. Must be flexible with both working remotely or at the office, depending on need and company policy based on public health recommendations at the time. Remote working will require a consistently quiet and productive space, and office work operates in a typical business environment.

KEXP is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and empowering workplace. We believe that having staff, interns, and volunteers with diverse backgrounds enables KEXP to better meet our mission and serve music-loving communities around the world. We recognize that opportunities in radio and other creative industries have historically excluded and continue to disproportionately exclude Black and Indigenous people, people of color, people from working class backgrounds, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people. We strongly encourage all interested individuals to apply.
