2026 Summer Accounting Internship Program

This opportunity is designed to engage students in a real-world accounting career, improve professionalism and integrity and foster mentoring relationships between students and current CPAs in the community. Interns can expect to learn from a team of professionals while enhancing their education, career path, professional development and gain practical accounting knowledge in one of Manhattan’s premier Certified Public Accounting Firms.

The summer internship program will allow accounting students with an interest in an accounting career to have the opportunity to explore each area of the firm. Interns will meet our firms’ leaders, explore audit, tax, client accounting services, payroll, financial institution, agriculture, client engagements, trust planning, employee benefit audits and additional areas and projects as they present themselves. Interns can expect to apply their education and experience while gaining hands on experience.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in accounting 


• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis upon hire


• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills


• Strong attention to detail


• Ability to take direction


• Ability to work independently but also collaborate, as a team,


• Maintain confidentiality


• Proficient in Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs


• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Work on projects where you can apply your academic knowledge, manage priorities and deadlines, and develop new skills.

• Remain flexible amid changing work priorities and project scope.

• Learn how to work as part of a team to support our firm and clients


• Collaborate with the team to identify, research, and resolve client issues.

• Assist with projects for multiple client engagements in a broad variety of industries

• Additional tasks or projects to learn more about public accounting and office operations.


• Handle sensitive and confidential information with honesty and integrity


• Build relationships that will help position you for the next stage of your career.

• Learn new technology tools and interpret data efficiently and accurately.

Commitment: The summer internship program is a full-time position scheduled for June and July. This is a paid internship.  Our office hours are 8 am – 5 pm Monday through Thursday. Candidates must be available a minimum of 32 hours per week.
