Job Description - AmeriCorps - Satellite Program Support Member

Position Summary:
This 10.5 month AmeriCorps placement will support our work to eliminate hunger in our local community in an atmosphere of neighbor helping neighbor. Our organization provides food programs and services to more than 71,000 residents of Thurston County.
The AmeriCorps Satellite/Mobile Support Member provides vital, specialized support primarily dedicated to our Satellite program while gaining exposure to the broader organizational ecosystem. This position is based permanently at our warehouse but offers unique 8 hour per month shadowing and visitation opportunities at our food pantries and other warehouse programs to build well-rounded professional skills.

Program Monitoring Learn to monitor satellite, mobile, and home delivery food bank activities to ensure Federal, State, and local program compliance, including participation in site visits and reviewing adherence to MOUs and Department of Health standards.
Volunteer Training & Orientation Assist in learning how to train project volunteers on program standards, mission, job expectations, and connections to community resources.
Data Management Support the monitoring of the client visit database and assist in compiling demographic reports required by funders and program leadership.
Volunteer Coordination Learn to coordinate volunteers for delivery routes, mobile distribution schedules, and operational needs.
Distribution & Logistics Help prepare, load, and deliver orders using proper warehouse equipment and safety practices.
Contract & Compliance Support Assist program participants and partnering agencies in meeting reporting and compliance requirements.
Community Partnership Engagement Observe and participate in coordination with community agencies to expand access to services and strengthen regional food assistance networks.
Event Support Help plan and host the bi-annual Satellite Summit, fostering communication and collaboration among community partners.
Meetings & Professional Development Attend contractor meetings, training sessions, and internal staff meetings to develop professional nonprofit workplace skills.
Reporting Support the preparation of reports for supervisors and contracting agencies under staff guidance.
Agency Relationship Building Learn to recruit, train, and maintain relationships with contracted partner agencies.
Team Participation Serve as an active Food Bank team member by participating in meetings, trainings, fundraising activities, and other planned events.
Skills we are looking for:
Able to lift 50-pound boxes. Lifting 25 pounds or more should be with team or equipment support.
Valid WA State driver’s license
Current CPR & First Aid Certificates or be willing to obtain
Must have or obtain a valid Washington State Food Workers Card.
Willingness to be flexible with types of tasks given.
A team player, but also capable of working independently.
