APEX Fellow - Alumni Engagement

Job Description - APEX Fellow - Alumni Engagement

Description

As Ursinus continues to advance APEX and applied liberal arts education, we wish to extend those principles beyond graduation while supporting the College's evolving operating model. This Post-Baccalaureate APEX Fellows Program creates practical, project-based early career professional experience for recent graduates while expanding the College's capacity to execute strategic initiatives. Each Fellow will be assigned a primary area of focus that provides entry-level, real-world experience within a professional functional area, complemented by secondary work and learning experiences that broaden their understanding of higher education, institutional operations, and cross-functional collaboration.

The Alumni Engagement Fellow will develop processes and document workflows that will support the growth and sophistication of the College’s Alumni Referral, Alumni Legacy, and U-Connect programs.

What You'll Gain:

  • Applied: Hands-on experience designing and documenting operational workflows that directly support Alumni Referral, Legacy, and U-Connect programs.

  • Professional: Exposure to relationship management, alumni outreach strategy, and advancement operations within a higher education setting.

  • Experiential: A portfolio-ready body of work — including process maps, program documentation, and engagement data — that demonstrates your capacity to build systems from the ground up.

This fellowship will position you for careers in alumni relations, nonprofit development, higher education administration, and program management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review current practices and help document the steps, timelines, and staff responsibilities associated with each program.

  • Create and maintain program materials, templates, checklists, and communications under the guidance of Alumni Engagement staff.

Assist with identifying, inviting, onboarding, and following up with alumni participants.

  • Coordinate program-related communications and activities with Advancement colleagues and campus partners.

  • Maintain accurate participation records and track referrals, outreach, follow-up activities, and other basic program results.

  • Support initial program activities, gather feedback, and update processes and materials based on staff guidance.

Secondary: Support other office, administrative, and event-based Alumni Engagement and Advancement initiatives as assigned to gain broader exposure to the work.
