Job Description - Architectural Intern

MHTN Architects is seeking paid Architectural Interns to join our innovative and multidisciplinary project teams year-round. These internships are open to applicants who are current students in a bachelor’s or master’s architecture program and are interested in jumpstarting their career. While this position is meant to be flexible to prioritize academic responsibilities, this position requires a minimum of 12 hours of work in-person work at our studio in Salt Lake City, Utah on a weekly basis.

As an Architectural Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside architects, interior designers, planners, and landscape architects as you contribute to the design process and share your unique perspective. You will gain insight into the functions of a large architecture studio and lend a hand in the performance of general studio tasks and errands essential to the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Project opportunities in this role align with Architectural Experience Program (AXP) goals. You will participate in design conversations and pin-ups and be tasked with designing layouts and features within commercial projects. This position will aid project teams in the design process and may include developing renderings and physical models and project documentation under the mentorship of various team members.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication
Strong visual communication
Ability to effectively collaborate with project teams
Able to present information in a clear and concise manner
Well organized and detail-oriented
Creative and forward thinking
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with SketchUp and Revit preferred.
Driver's license preferred.
Proficiency in Lumion or Enscape a plus!
Familiarity with 3D printer, laser cutter, and basic power tools preferred.

This is an hourly, overtime non-exempt position. This position pays $24.27 an hour. The internship requires up to 12-20 hours a week commitment of the applicant. Health benefits are not included for this position.
