General Summary
The Armature Intern will gain valuable “hands on” production experience and training by working in collaboration with our skilled professionals. Interns are supported and challenged as they benefit from renowned stop motion animation expertise. Specifically, the Armature Intern will assist with the assembly of puppet armatures and rigging required in a stop motion animated feature. 

Job Functions 

• Build accurate armatures and assemblies from mechanical drawings using machine tools, silver soldering, and hand tools. 


• Perform repetitive finely detailed tasks with precision for extended periods of time as part of the armature manufacturing process. 


• Collaborate with the stop motion rigging team, puppet fabrication team, and animation to ensure armature builds meet required specifications.


• Aid in shop maintenance and organization. 


• Meet deadlines as established by department leadership and production.  

Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college/university, or graduated within the last 12 months, with an emphasis in fine arts, film, or other relevant area of study. 


• Basic experience with metal fabrication tools and techniques. 


• Basic understanding of stop motion fabrication processes. 


• Experience with ball and socket armatures and CAD software, preferred. 


• Basic understanding of anatomy. 


• Detail oriented with excellent communication skills.


• Able to work both collaboratively and independently.

Salary
$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable
