Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $18/hr

Work schedule: This is a part-time internship, with a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Internship Dates: June 8, 2026 - August 14th, 2026

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Meow Wolf is proud to provide one of a kind experience to university students through our internship program. We are currently working on building a Meow Wolf exhibition in Los Angeles, CA, and are looking for creative, passionate interns to join our installation team to take this exciting project to completion.

This is a part-time internship with no more than 29 hours per week and is expected to be in person at our Los Angeles exhibition. Students will be paid $18.00 per hour and be working with company leaders and experts in their field. 

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a Los Angeles-based college or university.


 

WHAT WE OFFER OUR INTERNS

  • An hourly wage of $18.00

  • Part-time flexible internship, no more than 29 hours per week. 

  • College credit is available through your university upon request. 

  • A letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship.

  • Support from a Meow Wolf mentor who is assigned to each student.

  • In field experience and specialty training.

  • Access to Meow Wolf senior leadership, and the opportunity to grow and learn from industry experts and company leaders.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY

  • Enrolled at a Los Angeles-based college or university.

  • Live within commuting distance of Los Angeles for the internship time period.

  • Discretion. Many of our projects are still a secret.

  • Commitment and self-directed initiative. 

  • Availability for the entire Internship duration from June 8, 2026 - August 14, 2026

  • This is a part-time position, to be within the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday.

Art Installation Management Internship Job Description

The Art Installation Manager(AIM) analyzes and examines the sites to make sure all the Meow Wolf and Artist installations will fit properly and work effectively as intended. They ensure that this is done in agreement with the principles and modulations of the company. Working closely with Art, Design and Production as well as Logistics, the Art Installation Manager oversees the Art installation requirements.

The Art Installation Management Intern assists with the coordination and execution of this work. They will partake in the development and allocation of resources and equipment to support the install. The AIM Intern, innovative and creative, is an organized thinker who is able to ideate multiple technical and creative approaches and solutions to meet installation criteria.

The AIM Intern will coordinate with all project personnel, departments, and disciplines during the installation phase.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Assist coordination efforts with Logistics for on site receiving and installation.

  • Support the management of contractors that facilitate installation.

  • Participate in Site-Readiness reviews.

  • Help track resource usage and expenses across all installation efforts.

  • Work with the Safety Director to ensure safe practices are followed on-site.

  • Consult with Creative and Art Direction on intent of installed elements.

  • Assist in managing task and punch lists for installed work.

  • Assist in reports to Show Leadership on the status of installation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Technical Theater trade, a specialty construction trade, or Art handling and Production.

  • A working knowledge of materials used in general construction.

  • Familiarity with reading construction and/or shop drawings, conducting field measurements, and creating field sketches and notes.

  • A working knowledge in Google Suites, Slack, and similar programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how a major entertainment project is constructed and participate in the coordination of site activities with various stakeholders.

  • Witness and participate in the field QA/QC process in support of the Creative Vision.

  • Develop relationships with Technicians, Contractors and Creative to support the physical realization of project components.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.  

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may  include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. 

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel: 

This position does not require minimal travel.
