Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The NCCC works to support Northfield students pursuing post-secondary education by offering a wide variety of student support services, including childcare. The NCCC intentionally focuses on meeting the educational needs of recent Northfield High School alumni, especially students of color, those from low-income families, and those who are first-generation college attendees. The NCCC Childcare Specialist provides childcare while students attend evening classes. Additionally, they will be asked to support various capacity-building projects as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Determine a weekly schedule working at the NCCC Student Center
● Provide childcare while students attend evening classes
● Communicate regularly with NCCC staff regarding any childcare concerns and needs
● Contribute to NCCC marketing by reviewing plans, distributing posters to local coffee shops, etc.
● Office clerical duties including but not limited to data entry, preparing parent/family outreach mailings, type/summarize meeting notes, research information for program use, and other clerical duties as assigned, as time permits
● Punctual, reliable attendance at all assigned shifts
● Preferably available 5:45 – 9:00 p.m. any night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and other afternoon/evening times as agreed upon in advance
● Shifts may be regularly assigned, or on an as-needed/substitute basis.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
● Strong communication skills
● Ability to maintain confidentiality
● Expected to be comfortable working with students of diverse backgrounds ● Experience working with children preferred
● Bilingual (Spanish or Somali speaking skills) preferred
● Required background check
