Building Maintenance Intern (part-time/seasonal, $18.00/hour)

ABOUT US: The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, programs, events, parks and open spaces. Major facilities include three community centers, multiple aquatic facilities and fitness centers, tennis club, two golf clubs, an indoor sports center, nature center, historic farm, and administrative offices.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of Manager of Facility Operations, the Building Maintenance Intern will gain professional work experience by providing support on a variety of trades work and facility maintenance and inspections.

LOCATION:  601 Morse Ave., Schaumburg, IL 60193

QUALIFICATIONS: The best applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent). Interest in mechanical skills, computer skills, and communication skills. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required for occasional deliveries. To be considered for this internship, your application must include contact information for your internship advisor, two (2) separate professional references, the top three (3) goals you would like to accomplish during your internship, and the ability to submit a copy of your transcripts upon request.

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a seasonal position paying $18.00 per hour. Schedule is generally Monday – Friday 7:45 am - 4:15 pm however we are flexible to work around summer school schedules. Overtime or weekend work may be required based on need.
