About the Role
The Business Analytics Intern at ButcherBox will support the business analytics team by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to help drive business decisions. This role provides hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and business performance evaluation. The intern will work cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify trends, generate insights, and contribute to data-driven initiatives.
This is hybrid position, with the expectation that the person in the role will work from our Watertown, MA a minimum of 2 days a week June 2nd - August 14th.
Key Responsibilities
•Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
•Analyze business performance metrics and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
•Develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI
•Translate data findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
•Document methodologies, assumptions, and processes for transparency and reproducibility
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Product
Required Qualifications
•Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
•Basic knowledge of SQL or willingness to learn
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
•Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with Databricks
•Familiarity with Python or Power BI for data analysis
•Understanding of statistical concepts and business metrics
•Experience working with large datasets
•Interest in business strategy and decision support
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the intern will:
