This position is exclusively for folks ages 16 and above who’ve completed the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington Counselor-in-Training program and are ready to take their professional camp experience to the next level.
As a Junior Counselor, you’ll live and work in rustic camp settings from June 21 through August 25, though Junior Counselors may be scheduled for up to 3 weeks off depending on the needs of camp and the number of Junior Counselors hired for the summer. Shower and toilet facilities are separate from cabins and could include non-flush toilets and dormitory-style showers. Most of your time will be spent in the great outdoors doing fun activities with campers, such as hiking, archery, swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts – as well as assisting with camp operations.
As a Junior Counselor, you’ll earn $69.16 to $77.50 per day ($415.00 to $465.00 per week) based on any previous experience in the role, plus a $400 retention bonus for completing the season.
